Special Requests 2022-23

The CDCA in Nicaragua is so grateful for all types of support - here are our current special requests, please share widely!

Nueva Vida Clinic & CDCA in general

Donations of all size to general budget help us pay staff, bills and keep projects going…but here are some special projects that also need your help:

  • $50/woman for birth control implants! These have not been available for the past year and we can purchase them now! They prevent unwanted pregnancy for 3 years. Our goal is to place 500 in 2023.

  • $2,500 to install roof and extra benches over outdoor waiting area (replacing temporary tent put up in 2020 when the pandemic hit)

  • $500 to prune large trees for safety and to allow light into our herb garden

  • $500 to repair Center security wall damaged by a tree that fell in a hurricane

  • $200 to fix dental chair

  • $335/month to expand psychologist from half to full time position

  • $150/year/80 students to support Lobas and Leones at-risk youth programs

  • $50/month/30 health promoters who support 9,000 patients a year with Grassroots Healthcare’s $9,000 (see Giving Tuesday campaign 29 Nov 2022)

  • $30/month/patient to support chronic care patients, including their prescibed medicines

  • $9/year/child to provide dental care including cleanings every 6 months and repairs/extractions

    Other Ways to Help

  • Purchase coffee for yourself or as a gift from Farmer Shares to support El Porvenir Co-op - if you sign up for a recurring monthly donation of $50 or more to the CDCA, we’ll send you a code to get free shipping on coffee for 2023!

  • Purchase coffee to sell as a fundraiser! We’ll send you 50 lbs or more at rock-bottom prices so you can sell to your church, friends, neighbors or civic group to raise money. Write info@farmershares. com for more information.

  • Come visit us in Nicaragua and encourage others to do so! You can see upcoming brigades here or organize your own trip by writing casabenjaminlinder@jhc-cdca.org

  • Invite us to give a presentation - virtually or in-person - at your home, church or school. Write to sarah@jhc-cdca.org

  • Spread the word! Share these requests, our newsletter, blog and social media with others who may be able to help.

  • Pray for the work in Nicaragua, hold the work in the Light, send good thoughts our way.

  • Consider a donation of stock, an IRA required distribution, or including this work in your will. Write to sarah@jhc-cdca.org for more information.

From the bottom of our hearts, THANK YOU!
