11-19 May 2019 – Open delegation, 25 person limit
Want to see the world, but don’t want to be just another tourist?
This is your opportunity to join others for a delegation to Nicaragua May 11-19, 2019. You will work alongside the host organization and local community members to build a training center at the CDCA’s health clinic, accompany doctors doing home visits, and learn about Nicaragua’s health care system. You’ll stay at a rural organic coffee cooperative to see their conservation efforts, visit an industrial sesame processing plant supporting small farmers, walk to the mouth of a live volcano, swim in an ancient crater lake, and put all you have seen and heard into context. We encourage medical professionals and students to apply, but any level of skills and Spanish language (or lack thereof) accepted.
When we at the CDCA ask our Nicaraguan co-workers what we can tell our supporters about the current political situation, this is what we hear again and again: “Tell them our families and our lives go on, and to come down to Nicaragua and see with their own eyes how we are being affected: visit our clinic, talk to our patients, work alongside us and learn.”
Delegation hosts – The CDCA has been in Nicaragua for 25years working in sustainable community development in the areas of health care, education, sustainable agriculture and sustainable economic development.
Price – $680 – Includes all food, lodging, in-country-delegation travel, translation, and miscellaneous delegation expenses. Does not include travel to Nicaragua.
