Located in Nicaragua, the Center for Development in Central America (CDCA) is a project of the Jubilee House Community (JHC), a non-profit organization. Nicaragua is the second poorest country in the Western Hemisphere. We work with the poor. The CDCA’s goal is to work in partnership with communities and cooperatives to facilitate empowerment: enabling them to find their own solutions to the problems they identify and connecting them with resources to solve their problems. The CDCA’s mission is to enable communities to become self-sufficient, sustainable, democratic entities.
Located in Ciudad Sandino, the CDCA works in five main areas:
- Sustainable Agriculture
- Sustainable Economic Development
- Health Care
- Education
- Appropriate Technology
We have been on-site since 1994 working with leaders in Ciudad Sandino, the most densely populated city in Nicaragua, and one of the poorest. Our agriculture projects extend over the western part of Nicaragua and our education has extended to the United States, Canada, Northern Ireland, Ireland, and Taiwan…and we are open to being more global.
We work to connect Nicaraguans with others from around the world who have access to all types of resources. We hope you will help.
